Roanoke Karate

Posted on December 16, 2012

A lot of people get hesitant when they start to freespar.  Afraid of the contact or getting hurt.  This is not the case.  It is in fact one of the most enjoyable parts of taekwondo or karate.  Having the opportunity to test you techniques in a controlled environment.

There are rules that are followed with each match to assist in providing a safe environment.

  • Everyone must wear complete protective gear.  Hands, Feet, Shins, Head, Elbow, Mouthpiece, Groin cup for males.
  • No strikes below the belt.
  • No strikes to the throat, face, or back.
  • Light to moderate contact.  Work with your partner.

So get out there and work.

Lindamood’s Martial Arts offers classes six days a week in the largest facility in Roanoke.  We teach traditional taekwondo (Korean Karate) Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Classes are available for Little Rhinos (3 and 4 years old), Juniors (5-13 years old), Adult (14 years +).

Come give us a try, we have something for everyone
